Chappaquiddick is a small island located in the eastern side of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, USA. The island is famous for the Chappaquiddick incident that took place on July 18, 1969, when a car driven by U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy crashed off a wooden bridge and into Poucha Pond, killing one of his female passengers, Mary Jo Kopechne.
