Chappaquiddick Island is a small island off the eastern end of Martha’s Vineyard with an area of 1.5 square miles. It is famous for being the location of the infamous Chappaquiddick incident in 1969 involving U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy. The island is accessible by ferry service from Edgartown and offers a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, boating, and more.
